Paul Sammon - SVP, Managing Director, Marketing and Category Development

Paul, an ad category development specialist, directs a broad spectrum of DJG’s work in ad sales development and strategic marketing advisory. He has a diverse background of 25+ years of successful experience in marketing, advertising sales, research and media planning. His experience crosses most publishing and advertising categories.

Paul started his career on the client-side in media planning with CPC International’s internal media operation. He moved agency-side with DDB/Needham, rising to the level of Associate Media Director.

Magazines came calling and he joined Reader’s Digest in their Marketing Services group, specializing in automotive business development. After several years, he joined their New York advertising sales staff and broke new business across many categories. In the early nineties, he joined what is now Primedia as New York Sales Manager for Automobile Magazine and then to Premiere as Marketing Services Director.

Paul joined DJG in 1995 and has headed their Ad Sales Development practice ever since. He frequently represents DJG at industry conferences and events. He actively contributes to the Magazine Publishers of America Professional Development Program, including as their featured speaker in the annual Automotive Research and Strategy CareerTrack session
